Take your Bicycle with RTS

You can take your bicycle with you anywhere RTS goes! Most RTS buses have bike racks on the front that hold up to two bicycles. If you wish to use the bike rack, signal the driver that you are going to the front of the bus. You will be responsible for loading and unloading your bicycle.

How To Load Your Bike

Pull up on the release and lower rack.

disconnect top of rack from bus

pull down bike rack

Place bike wheels into the slots labeled “front” and “rear.”

load bike onto rack

Pull out bike support and lift it over the front wheel. The spring in the arm will keep your bike secure while the bus is moving.

How To Unload Your Bike

  1. To unload, release support arm and lift bike from the rack. Return rack to the upright position.

RTS will transport battery-powered bicycles in the bicycle rack and inside RTS buses.

  • Bike wheels must fit securely in the rack and be secured by the support arm as recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Bike accessories, baskets, etc. must be secure and not obstruct the view of the Operator.
  • Removing the battery is optional.
  • Battery-powered bicycles are limited to one per rack. If the rack is full, customers should be prepared to wait for the next bus or choose a safe location to lock up their bicycle.
  • Battery-powered or standard bicycles that fold and can be kept out of the aisles may be brought onboard.
  • Battery-powered or standard two-wheeled scooters that fold and can be kept out of the aisles may be brought onboard.
  • Gas-powered bicycles are not permitted.
